Obituary of Elizabeth Huddleston
Elizabeth Collins Huddleston, age 96, of Osage Beach, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach, Missouri.
She was born March 11, 1913 in Kansas City, Kansas, a daughter to Williamson Lewis, Jr. and Lillian (Koch) Collins.
She attended public schools in Kansas City, Kansas, graduating from Wyandotte High School and attended Junior College in that same city. In January of 1933, she married Charles F. Huddleston and of that union, three children were born; Charles, Jr., Mary Elizabeth and Lillian Lois.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her mother and father, three sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by her three children, four grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, three cousins and a host of friends and acquaintances from her church family as well as from the community.
Elizabeth was a long time member of Community Christian Church, Camdenton, having been baptized there in 1939. She was a member of the Christian Women�s Fellowship, taught Sunday school and was Sunday school superintendent. She was a charter member of the Niangua Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a charter member of the Lake of the Ozarks Garden Club and of the Literary Club. She was past president of the Camden County Historical Society and served as curator and docent at the Historical Society Museum for many years. She also served on the Camden County Republican Central Committee as committeewoman from the township in which she lived.
Elizabeth made an impact wherever she was. She was out-going, vivacious, had a keen mind and a marvelous sense of humor. Although raised a skeptic, she had a deep faith in Jesus Christ! She was a great mother and will be missed by her family and many friends.
