Obituary of Alta Almeda Johnson

Alta Almeda Johnson, age 86 of Brumley, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at the Miller County Nursing Home, Tuscumbia, Missouri. She was born May 6, 1922 in Brumley, Missouri, a daughter to Ern and Ollie (Jefferies) Brown. She was united in marriage to James Ray Johnson on December 29, 1939 in Brumley, and to this union six children were born. Alta worked in the kitchen for Kirkwood Lodge for over twenty five years. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, sewing and quilting. She is survived by one son, George Johnson and wife Peggy of Brumley, Missouri; one daughter, Wilma Raines of Ellington, Missouri; one brother, Ern Brown, Jr. of Shelton, Washington; one sister, Nina Wilson and husband Bob of Iberia, Missouri; daughter-in- law Berma Brown of Jefferson City, Missouri; seven grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren and five great- great grandchildren along with several other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Ray Johnson; a son, Edward; three daughters, Norma Johnson, Gladys Johnson and Dorothy Johnson one brother, Emmett Brown and one sister, Shirley Brown.
