Obituary of Richard Evans

Richard (Rocky) Gene Evans, age 69 of Du Quoin, Illinois, passed away Monday, May 11, 2009 at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach, Missouri. He was born September 9, 1939 in Hollywood, California, a son to Richard and Connie (Alvarez) Evans. Rocky was employed in the auto body business until his retirement in 2002. He loved football, playing in pool tournaments, fishing and camping. But more than anything he loved spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by two sisters, Eunice Cramer and husband Scott of Linn Creek, Missouri and Catherine Finadello and husband Ronald of Craig, Iowa; long time special friend, Donna Franklin; step-sons, Tom Whittle and Lisa, Wally Franklin and Trish and Sean Franklin and Melissa; step-daughters, Wendy Swalls and husband Scott, Julie Franklin and Travis; nieces and nephews, Felicia Wright and husband Nathan, Adriell Shepherd, Staci Brown and husband Steve; grand nieces and nephews, Brionna Wright, Kailey Shepherd; Lexi Brewer, and Dillon Smith; grandchildren, Amanda Null and husband Billy, Garret, Dalton, Taylor, Ashley, Jacob and Jordan Franklin, Skylar Swalls along with several other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mothers Ceba B. Sutton and Connie Evans; father Richard Evans; one brother and one nephew, John R. Brewer.
