Obituary of Joan Mary Pahlmann

Joan Mary Pahlmann, age 78, of Osage Beach, Missouri went to be with Jesus on May 16, 2009. Joan was born April 15, 1931 in Cleveland, Ohio. She moved to Afton, Missouri at the age of 17 and attended Afton High School where she met the love of her life. Joan was united in holy matrimony on June 3, 1950 to Gordon Jerome Pahlmann. Together they raised five children. Joan loved to sing, play the organ and was active in the Mid-Missouri Sweet Adenlines for twenty five years. She was a member of the Lake of the Ozarks Elkettes and served as President from 1977-1978. She also enjoyed art, crafts and fishing. She worked side by side with her husband as office manager in their family owned business, Burman Company and Scotts Heating and Air for a total of thirty four years. Joan is survived by her dear husband Gordon; three daughters, Terry Jo Shivers and husband Terry W of Warrensburg, Missouri, Cathy Krahl and husband Ben of Linn Creek, Missouri and Celeste Verrone and husband Andy of Bentonville, Virginia; two sons, Jeffrey and his wife Terry of Iberia, Missouri and Keith and wife Donna of St. Louis, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; half brother Richard McVey of Cleveland, Ohio; sister Kay Rice of state of California; mother-in-law Margaret Pahlmann of Osage Beach, Missouri along with several other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Sherman and Jack; half brother Ron and one sister Eileen.
