Obituary of Ruth M. Charlton

Ruth M. Charlton, age 86, of Macks Creek, Missouri passed away, Friday, May 1, 2009 at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach, Missouri. She was born May 31, 1922 in Climax Springs, Missouri, a daughter to George H. and Clara M. (Baldwin) Griesel. On December 29, 1938, she was united in marriage to James P. Charlton and to this union nine children were born; Wilda, Margaret, Betty, Paul, Robert (Bobby), Joyce, Charles, Tommy and Jesse. Ruth was saved at the age of ten at Bannister Baptist Church. At the time of her death, she was a faithful member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Macks Creek. She cooked for the children of Macks Creek Schools for over 30 years, which she dearly loved. She also loved gardening and taking care of her flowers. Ruth was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving are Wilda and Darrell Carroll, Margaret Riley, Carl Coffey, Marilyn Charlton, Bobby Charlton, Joyce and Bill Taylor, Charles and Penny Charlton, Tommy and Connie Charlton and Jesse and Lavonne Charlton; 27 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 7 step great-grandchildren; 7 step great-great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild along with several other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy; daughter Betty Coffey; son Paul Charlton; granddaughter Vanessa and husband Jackie Barclay; son-in-law Wayne Riley; great-great granddaughter Addison Blankenship; two brothers and one sister.
