Obituary of Herbert E. Hydrick

Herbert Eugene Hydrick, 76, of Camdenton, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at his home. He was born on February 14, 1933 to Edward and Martha (Chitwood) Hydrick in Seman, Alabama. He graduated from East Rochester High School in East Rochester, New York in 1951. He attended Rider College in Trenton, New Jersey before enlisting in the United States Air Force. He served as an aide to General Glantzberg during his years of service, from 1952-1961. He also took courses from the University of Maryland through their overseas program. Herb married Marilyn Hugunin on May 18, 1969. To this union two children were born, Jenny and Jeffrey. He worked as an automobile salesman and sales manager for Ford dealerships in Rochester, New York, Sacramento, California, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In 1971, he moved to Union Grove, Wisconsin, where he purchased Zaeske Ford, which later became Hydrick Ford. He was a member of the Ford 500 Club and served on numerous boards for Ford Motor Company. In 1999, after retiring, Herb and Marilyn moved to Camdenton, where he enjoyed fishing and boating. Herb was an avid sports fan and liked watching any sport on television. He also took pleasure in watching his children and grandchildren grow and participate in all of their activities. Herb was a member of the Camdenton United Methodist Church and helped deliver Meals on Wheels. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Dorothy, Margie Delois, and Grethel; and his mother and father in-law, Roy and Eva Hugunin. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; children, Jenny (Kevin) Sinclair of Carlisle, Iowa and Jeffrey (Jennifer Plitsch) Hydrich of Arlington, Virginia; grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua and Jordan Lawless, and Ryan, Lauren, and Matthew Hydrick; brother, Thomas (Ruth) Hydrick of Alabama; sisters, Clonda Schmill and Claudia Porter, also of Alabama; brother in-law, Alan (JoAnne) Hugunin of California; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
