Obituary of Johnny Allen Clapham
Johnny (John) Allen Clapham, age 65 of Osage Beach, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2009 at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
He was born September 3, 1943 in Edgemont, South Dakota, a son to James Phillip and Margaret Ruby (Freel) Clapham.
John had served a good part of his life as a masonry contractor. He continued his service more recently as a volunteer at New Tribes Mission in Roach. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. John was a member of the Elks Lodge and the Eagle Lodge.
John is survived by his wife Mary of the home; two step-sons, Jeff Vandeveer and his wife Vicki of Springfield, Illinois and Andy Vandeveer of Avondale, Arizona; step-daughter Cindy Vandeveer of Thayer, Illinois; sisters, Jean Stanhope of Wichita, Kansas, Pan Woodford of The Dalles, Oregon, Pat Minier of Amarillo, Texas, Linda McNichols of Portland, Oregon and Susie Jenson of The Dalles, Oregon and Patsy Prideaux of Hood River, Oregon; four grandchildren, Jaime, Dan, Jessica and Joseph; one great-grandchild, Bobby; along with several other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Nancy Dale Clapham; a step-son, Dan Vandeveer; six brothers, Mickey, Donald, James, Richard, Thomas and Joe; and two sisters, Snookie Butrick and Mary Lou Clausen.
