Obituary of Evelyn Palmer
Evelyn Palmer, age 87, of Gravois Mills, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at the Laurie Care Center, Laurie, Missouri.
She was born May 12, 1922 in Kansas City, Missouri, an only child to Harry and Emma Plattner. Evelyn attended Paseo High School. In 1968, she married A.R. Sam Palmer and moved to Columbia, Missouri where she enjoyed rooting for Mizzou. They moved full-time to the Lake of the Ozarks in the 80s and were members of Kent Memorial Lutheran Church. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star, VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed her time at the lake immensely. If you stopped by to visit you could find her tending to her flowers, chatting with her neighbors, laying in the sun or cooking enough to feed an army.
Survivors include her husband Sam; her three sons, Jack Cannon of Ormond Beach, Florida, Jim (Linda) Cannon of Overland Park, Kansas, and Joe (Florence) Cannon of Mandeville, Louisiana; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was a passionate woman who was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Thank you to all of her dedicated and kind caregivers at Laurie Care Center.
In memory of Evelyn, the family asks you to take time to enjoy a meal with your family.
