Obituary of Carl C. Calvert

Carl C. Calvert, of Camdenton, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at the Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of 87 years, 19 days. He was born June 18, 1922, in Montreal, Missouri, a son to William �Willie� and Myrtle (Blankenship) Calvert. Carl was united in marriage on December 5, 1941 in Montreal, to Emmagene Jones, and together they had shared the past 67 years until his passing. Carl is survived by his wife Emmagene of the home; a son, Dennis Calvert and wife Terry of Kansas, Oklahoma; a brother, Virgil Calvert of Linn Creek, Missouri; a sister, Irma Sheeley and husband Clemont of Richland, Missouri; four grandchildren, Randy Proffitt, Joshua Calvert, Amanda Hancock and Jacob Calvert; seven great-grandchildren, Jacob, Kameron, Gabriel, Tyler, MacKenzie, Elijah and Micah along with several other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Cecil Calvert and Fred Calvert; a daughter, Annette Proffitt; brothers, Zeldon Rainwater, Wallis Calvert, Earl Calvert and Berdette Calvert; sister, Maxine Calvert and two grandchildren, Bradley Proffitt and Chad Calvert. Carl and Emmagene moved to Kansas City, Kansas in 1951 where Carl worked as a carpenter. He was a member of the Local Union #168 there and was also a faithful member of the 13th Street Tabernacle Church where he served as a Deacon and Elder there for 24 years. He was a born again Christian, and believed in helping any one that needed help. Carl retired in 1984 and moved back to the Camdenton area. He worked for 1 year, building Buffalo Prairie Baptist Church where he was a member for a number of years. Carl was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate the life he lived and will cherish the memories he created for his family and friends.
