Obituary of Paul Dean Simmons

Paul Dean Simmons, age 87, of Macks Creek, Missouri, passed away August 3, 2009 at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Paul was born January 26, 1922 in Urbana, Missouri, a son to Stephen and Winona (Dickey) Simmons. He was united in marriage to Lorene Joyce Hicks on May 14, 1949, in Branch Missouri. After serving in the Army, and being involved with the CCC camps as a young man, he worked for Gas Service Company in the Kansas City area where he was a Superintendent. Paul enjoyed fishing, keeping up with local activities and families in the area. He helped form the Macks Creek Senior Citizens Center and was a member of First Baptist Church of Macks Creek. Paul is survived by his wife, Lorene Simmons of the home; two sons, Rick Simmons and wife Carol of Independence, Missouri, and Ron Simmons and wife Becky of Independence, Missouri; two brothers, Troy Simmons and wife Mickey of Branch, Missouri and Steve Simmons and wife Michelle of Raymore, Missouri; two sisters, Adeline Moulder and husband Donald of Macks Creek, Missouri and Dorothy Morgan and husband Junior of Preston, Missouri; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, along with several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
