Obituary of Forest Ray Pitman
Forest Ray (Fuzzy) Pitman, age 70, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at Research medical Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.
He was born November 1, 1939 in Dallas County, Missouri at Buckeye Bottoms, a son to Clyde F. and Eliza (Willis) Pitman.
Forest was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Macks Creek, Missouri, where he was saved and baptized at a revival in November, 1954 at the age of 15.
He joined the United States Army in 1958 and was a proud Korean War Veteran.
Forest liked the outdoors, where he enjoyed hunting and fishing; but his first love was his job as an over-the-road truck driver, which he had done for over 30 years. There probably wasn�t a town or truck stop he hadn�t been to.
He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Marie Pittman of the home; two sisters, Betty Hanks of Kansas City, Missouri and Shirley Crall of Russellville, Missouri; a brother, Peter Pitman and wife Sherrie of Henderson, Nevada; two sons, Mike Pitman and wife Debby of Macks Creek, Missouri and Darryn Pitman and wife Shelly of Iberia, Missouri; two daughters, Jennifer Huber and husband John of Eldon, Missouri and Pam Asher and husband Vernon of Eldon, Missouri; twelve grandchildren, Amanda, Katie, Cody, Sarah, Jessica, Casey, Justin, Jarrett, Kyle, Mike, Dalton, and Levi; five great-grandchildren, Brieanne, Jordan, Caleb, Adrienne and Levi; three step children, Mike, Pam and Sherrie along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde Pitman and Eliza Alfrey and one step-son, Jimmy.
