Obituary of Kenneth Elton Bledsoe
Kenneth Elton (Kenny) Bledsoe, age 80, of Camdenton, Missouri, passed away Friday, September 4, 2009 at is home, surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born January 7, 1929 in Maysville, Missouri the second son of Carl and Elsie (Campbell) Bledsoe.
As a small child he and his older brother Herschel moved to the lake area. His first job on the lake was a fishing guide at the age of eight. He loved fishing with friends and family. In 1947 Kenny graduated from Camdenton High School and enlisted in the Navy.
On October 11, 1953 he married his high school sweetheart, Frances Doll Bledsoe, who preceded him in death in 2004.
In 1964 he opened his service station known as Camden Shell, later changing it to Conoco, before retiring in 2005. Kenny loved to laugh and tell stories to make everyone laugh. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. Later in life he enjoyed sitting outside watching the wildlife, especially the birds that he fed everyday.
He was truly a great Dad, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather and friend to all. He never met a stranger. He will be missed by all those, whom he touched.
Kenny is survived by one son and one daughter, John Bledsoe and his wife Anna of Camdenton and Julie Bledsoe also from Camdenton; five Grandchildren, Dawn Bledsoe, Jacob Witt, Joseph Witt, Jordan Long, and Adam Leavell; one Great-Grandchild, Arianna Bledsoe; and Shirley Umbarger, a very special friend of the family, along with several other relatives and many friends.
