Obituary of Wallace R. Johnson

Wallace R. (Wally) Johnson, age 76, of Camdenton, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at the Osage Beach Health Care Center in Osage Beach, Missouri. Wally was born October 27, 1932 in Kansas City, Kansas, the second son of Eric and Vera Pearson Johnson. Wally grew up in Kansas City, Kansas, attended Kansas University and was a graduate of a banking school in Kansas City. In 1971, Wally moved to the Lake of the Ozarks area, making a residence in Laurie, Missouri. On November 3, 1974, Wally was united in marriage to Judy Stark. Wally and Judy owned and operated the One Note Lounge in the Laurie Bowling Alley, and the Jugs and Stuff liquor store in Laurie. Also during this time, Wally worked with Drake Marine and Millstone Marina. Wally worked full time with Glencove Marina and became the top salesman there for several years. Wally was a member of the Lions Club and the Marine Dealers Association. After retiring, Wally worked as a golf assistant at Old Kinderhook, and as a greeter at the Camdenton Wal-Mart Super Center. Wally was very much a �people person� and enjoyed visiting with everyone he met. He truly enjoyed his family and friends, and boating and golfing. Wally was a member of St. George Episcopal Church in Camdenton. He is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Judy Johnson of the home; two daughters, Joy Livingston and husband David of Olathe, Kansas and Stephanie Deason of Kingston Springs, Tennessee; one brother, Donald Johnson and wife June of Overland Park, Kansas; two grandchildren, Stacy Benton and husband Nick of Belton, Missouri and Stephen Shumate of Olathe, Kansas; one great-grandchild, Adelyn Benton of Belton, Missouri, along with several other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
