Obituary of Cecil Daniel Varner

Born May 28, 1919 in Macks Creek, Missouri, Cecil Daniel Varner went home to be with the Lord on January 11, 2010 in Camdenton, Missouri. He was baptized in the Macks Creek on February 26, 1931. Cecil moved to Southern California in 1940 and worked for Douglas Aircraft from December 10, 1940 until his retirement on May 29, 1981. He and his wife Barbara returned to Macks Creek where they started the Seniors Center. He served his community as an Alderman and the Mayor of Macks Creek, and was the National President of the American Baptist Men in 1984. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Macks Creek where he sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. Cecil was preceded in death by his daughter, Judith Lee, his son, Jerry Daniel, his wife Barbara Bess, and four brothers and three sisters. He leaves behind his sister Erma Moore; his grandson Paul Daniel; Paul�s wife Jennifer; three grandchildren, Karah Lynn, Jared Daniel and Christian Daniel, along with many who called him Uncle Cecil, friend and mentor. What was important to him was his personal relationship with God, his family, and listening to Cardinals baseball games. His legacy will be one of love for family, faith, a strong will, and a sense of humor. He will be missed but never forgotten. Proverbs 3: 5-6
