Obituary of Beverly A. Oben

Beverly A. Oben (77) passed away Sunday, January 24, 2010 in Osage Beach. She was born January 7, 1933 in St. Joseph, Missouri and lived in Kansas City, Missouri until she retired from Caterpillar Inc. She is survived by her son, Charles (Chip) A. Ferris of Elk Grove, California; by two daughters, Karen L. Cable and her husband Dan of Osage Beach; Kathleen P. McKaskle and her husband Bill of Amarillo, Texas. Survivors also include grandson, Joey and his wife Jennifer, and great grandsons Taylor, Leland, and Logan of Linn Creek; granddaughter Leigh Ann Bowling of Warrensburg; and three grandchildren of Amarillo, Chad, Katelyn and Amanda. Also surviving is her long time companion �Muffin�. Beverly was born in St. Joseph, Missouri but grew up in Kansas City. After retiring from Caterpillar in Kansas City, Beverly moved to the Lake area where she became involved in many local activities. She was a charter member of Christ The King Lutheran Church and had served on the Alter Guild. She was an active member of Newcomers/Longtimers and served as Treasurer, Chairman of the Community Committee and editor of News &Views. She was also a member of Chamber Active Volunteers having served as Publicity Chairman. She served on a steering committee for the Camden County Planning & Zoning Board and was a member of the P & Z Board for the Village of Four Seasons. She was one of the founding members of Hope House and was Treasurer for four years. Beverly was an avid reader and a member of one of the first book clubs formed by Newcomers/Longtimers.
