Obituary of Vernon D. Croy

Vernon D. Croy, age 90, of Osage Beach, Missouri, departed this life on Sunday, February 21, 2010, at Osage Beach Health Care Center, Osage Beach, Missouri. Vernon was born December 2, 1919 in Alton, Illinois, a son to Condry and Mildred (Merington) Croy. He was united in marriage on October 19, 1946, to Hazel Cory in Chicago, Illinois. Vernon had served his country proudly in both the United States Army and the United States Navy. He later worked as a research chemist. Vernon loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending his time with them. He was a member of Harper Chapel United Methodist Church in Osage Beach. Vernon is survived by his wife Hazel of the home; one son, Paul Jonathan Croy, and wife, Margaret, of Chicago, Illinois; two daughters, Carol Lee Croy, of Dallas, Texas, and Kathleen Robin Croy, and husband, Robert Knupp, of Phoenix, Arizona; one brother Wayne Croy, and wife Mildred, of Kansas City, Missouri; one sister, Vivian Loipersbeck of Phoenix, Arizona; three grandchildren, as well as several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
