Obituary of Robert Summers
Robert (Bobby) Raymer Summers passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, February 28, 2010.
He was born October 11, 1946 in Windsor, Missouri to Robert James and Gertrude Mossalene (Raymer) Summers, both deceased.
He was a 1964 graduate of Windsor High School, where he was active in all sports. Following high school, he attended Central Missouri State University for one year. On Valentine�s day, 1966, he was drafted into the United States Army. He served with the 4th Infantry in Viet Nam, until he was injured and sent to Tokyo. After he recuperated 4 months in the hospital, he served his remaining time in South Korea. He was discharged November 20, 1967. He had earned the National Defense Service Metal, Viet Nam Service Metal, Bronze Service Star, and Viet Nam Campaign Metal. He was a life-long member of Disabled American Veterans, and American Legion.
On August 28, 1982, he married Connie Sue Gilmore in Platte City, Missouri. They had three children; Tara Lee Summers, Sara Lyn Summers, and Robert Preston Summers.
Bobby�s family meant the world to him. He was kind, loving, and very generous. He will be greatly missed.
He is also survived by his aunt, Jeri (Sam) Anderson, several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents passing in March 2000 and October 2001, his brother, Michael James Summers, died April 19, 1988.
Bobby was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Windsor, Missouri.
