Obituary of Paul Campbell Jones
Paul Campbell Jones, age 90, of Osage Beach, Missouri, died Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Osage Beach Health Care, Osage Beach, Missouri.
He was born August 24, 1919, in Marissa, Illinois, to Vaughn and Silken (Campbell) Jones.
Paul was a World War II veteran, serving in the US Army Air Force from 1940 to 1946. He was a Chief Warrant Officer stationed at Wright Patterson Field, Dayton, Ohio during the war.
He married Ella Pigford on April 4, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri while on a three day pass, and they were dedicated to each other for 68 years.
After his discharge from the Air Force he used his �mustering out� pay to purchase acreage on Lake Road 13 A in Osage Beach. He built a home where he and his family lived for 38 years, then moved to Tan-Tara Estates.
Paul loved the land and the people of the area and engaged in hunting, golf and traveling. Quail hunting was his favorite and he especially loved his bird dogs.
He was a builder in the area for 46 years and operated his own business-Paul C. Jones Builder.
Survivors include his wife Ella, of the home; daughter Jacqueline Bulgin of Columbia, Missouri; three grandchildren; Paula Elam of Columbia, Missouri; Trevor Bulgin of Columbia, Missouri and Malinda Schumacher of Olathe, Kansas and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Persis McLean.
His reputation was that of a loving husband father and grandfather, a respected businessman, a loyal friend, a lover of animals and a true patriot who loved his country.
