Obituary of David Roy Westbrook

David Roy Westbrook, age 74, of Camdenton, Missouri, departed this life on April 12, 2010, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Missouri. David Roy was born February 17, 1936, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, the son of Herbert James and Zula Mae Owen Westbrook, who preceded him in death. David Roy is survived by his wife, Phyllis Byron Westbrook, of the home. He was preceded in death by one brother, Norman Earl Westbrook. He is survived by two sisters, Anna Pearl Umfleet, and husband Loren, of New London, Missouri, and Paula Kay Davis, and husband Charles (Buddy), of Fredericksburg, Virginia. Furthermore, he is survived by seven children, Terry Lee Clouse, and wife Angie, Of Trumann, Arkansas, Kathy Yvette Dunn, and husband Dean, of Trumann, Arkansas, David Wayne Westbrook, of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, Daren Scott Westbrook, and wife Danae, of O�Fallon, Missouri, Eloise Bridget Schmidt, and husband Mike of Rocky Mount, Missouri, Bert Brandon Westbrook, and wife Lisa of Lake Ozark, Missouri, and Deana Marie Kays, and husband Bill, of Camdenton, Missouri. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. David Roy, as early as 1952, while a junior in high school, started to teach the word of God to various congregations and also led them in song. This was a passion that stayed with him until his departing day. He graduated high school in 1954, in Advance, Missouri. After graduation, he became active in law enforcement for 35 years, and then became involved in firefighting. In his later law enforcement days, he enjoyed teaching the D.A.R.E. program at Hurricane Deck Elementary in Sunrise Beach. David Roy afterwards became occupied with Lowe�s for the past 5 years. In addition, he delighted in being �Santa�, handing out candy canes all over the lake area.
