Obituary of James Freeman Hield
James Freeman Hield died Tuesday, April 13, 2010, in Lake Ozark, Missouri.
Jim, as he was known, was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1923. He graduated from MIT in an accelerated three year class and served for 3 years in the United States Navy during World War II. He owned a commercial and industrial air-conditioning company in Kansas City until his retirement to Lake of the Ozarks. He was active in Rotary, and also served on the Board of Trustees of Four Seasons. Jim loved the water and living by it. He was an accomplished wood worker and golfer. He was a member of St. George Episcopal Church in Camdenton.
He was predeceased by his parents, his brother, and his two children, Laurie and Peter.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Madeleine Jaffray Hield, by one grandchild, one great-grandchild, and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
