Obituary of Edna R. Welker

Edna R. Welker, age 97, of Camdenton, Missouri, passed away Tuesday April 12, 2010 at Lakeside Meadows, Osage Beach, Missouri. Edna was born September 17, 1912, in Shelton, Nebraska, a daughter to Irwin and Evelyn (Robinson) Hogg, who were early pioneers of Nebraska. In November, 1936, she was united in marriage to Glenn Welker, who preceded her in death. Edna is survived by her two daughters; Karen Duncan, of Lee�s Summit, Missouri, and Glenda Wyss, and her husband, Fred, of Columbia, Missouri; one son, Robert Welker, and his wife, Virginia Linabury, of River Falls, Wisconsin; two sisters, Wanda Bald, of McCook, Nebraska, and Phyllis Bly, of Pomona, California; three grandchildren, Christopher Welker, Teddy Wyss, and his wife, Krista, and Michael Wyss, as well as several other relatives and friends. Edna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Glen Welker, her son-in-law, Richard Duncan, one sister, Doris Alberts, and one brother Orin Hogg. Edna was saved at an early age and was a member of First Baptist Church, Camdenton, for 55 years, where she had served faithfully as the church librarian. She enjoyed being part of the JOY Group at church and participating in their many activities. Edna taught school in the Camdenton School District for many years, as the Librarian, and also worked as a substitute teacher. She was a member of the Women�s Literary Guild, and the Order of the Eastern Star. Edna loved traveling and especially enjoyed her trips to Alaska and Hawaii.
