Obituary of Charles M Grimes
Charles Miles Grimes, 84, formerly of Hartville Missouri, died of natural causes while he slept, on Friday, May 7, 2010.
He was born September 1, 1925 to William and Rachel Parmelia May Rose Grimes in Hartville Missouri. He attended and graduated high school in Hartville in 1945. He moved to Lake of the Ozarks in the 50�s and worked as a farrier, horse trainer, and taught the world�s first high diving mules which he showed at exhibition venues across the United States in the late 50�s and early 60�s. He married Aletta Carpenter from Eldon, on September 16, 1960, in Tuscumbia, Missouri. Together they lived in the lake area, until his wife�s death in 2008.
He was a member of the World Wide Church of God.
Charles is predeceased by his wife, Aletta Lavern Grimes; brothers, James and Odus Grimes; sisters, Geneva Craig, Ella House, Alice Perkins, and Alma McGregor. He is survived by his step-daughter Paula, and her husband, John Keeney, of Eldon Missouri; daughters, Monica and husband, Billy Hees, of Rocky Mount Missouri, and Marie and husband, Jeffrey Ballew, of Kaiser Missouri; Grandchildren, Jesse Heckman of Eldon Missori, Amanda Yoder of Jefferson City Missouri, Valerie Goshorn of Kaiser, Missouri, Taylor Rimmer of Kansas City, Missouri, and Zion Grimes of Kaiser, Missouri; Step-grandchildren, Christopher Poss of Branson, Missouri, Thomas Ballew of Jefferson City, Misouri, Kayle Ballew of Jefferson City, Missouri, Savena, Derek, and Devon Hees of Rocky Mount, Misouri, and Madison Hees of Eldon, Missouri; Great-grandchildren includeTaylor and Brooklin Yoder of Jefferson City, Missouri. Also surviving is sister Betty Perkins of Mountain Grove, Missouri.
