Obituary of Mayme Woodall

Mayme Woodall, age 95, of Macks Creek, Missouri, departed this life for her Heavenly home on Thursday, May 20, 2010. Mayme was born Decmeber 12, 1914 in Linn Creek, Missouri. She was the sixth of eleven children born to Lonnie and Myrtle Moulder. Mayme accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at the age of sixteen during a revival at First Baptist Church, Macks Creek. She served her Lord in many capacities as a nursery and Bible school worker and for many years with her good friend Burla Eidson gathered food for those in the community who had lost loved ones. She married Onie Lee Woodall on March 12, 1933, and to this union two sons were born; Leslie Lee and Lynn Thomas Woodall. Mayme worked as a cook at Macks Creek schools for thirty years, retiring in 1994 at the age of eighty. She loved the kids and they loved her. She also served as an election worker for seventy years and in 2000 was recognized by the State of Missouri for her many years of service. She continued working the elections, retiring at the age of ninety. Mayme was a woman of many talents. She planned and built her own kitchen cabinets. She baked and decorated over seventy-five wedding cakes for area couples and was also a beautician. Mayme served her community as a member of the Branch Homemakers Club for seventy-three years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Onie; brothers, Howard, Ray, and Thomas Moulder; sisters, Nera Ricker, Florence Morgan, Zilpha (Dick) Ricker, Ruby Kincaid, Fern Clemmons, Beryl Rash, and June Slusser. Mayme is survived by sons, Leslie Woodall, and wife, Roberta, of Macks Creek, Missouri, Lynn Woodall, and wife Becky, of Springfield, Missouri. She was a devoted, loving grandmother to Sheryl Gillmore, Brenda Mattoon, Joyce Syler, Ryan Woodall, Betsy Pickering, Amy Robinson, Mickie Roy and her fifteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brother-in-law, Max Slusser, many nephews, nieces, and friends.
