Obituary of Lillian Cunningham

Lillian Fay Roofener was born August 9, 1920 and died May 25, 2010. Her parents, Floy and Elvira (Drenan) Roofener, preceded her in death. Lillian was a lifelong resident of Camden County except for a period of eight years when she and her husband lived in the Chicago area. They moved back to the family homestead in Roach, and then moved to Camdenton in 1999. Recently, Lillian was a resident of Lakeside Meadows in Osage Beach, and most recently, Windsor Estates in Camdenton. Lillian was the devoted and loving wife of Roy L. Cunningham for 66 years, until his death in 2005. Together they raised six children, Judith Fuller (Gary) of St. Louis, Wallace Cunningham (Debbie) of Roach, Curtis Cunningham (Marcia) of Belton, Maurice McNabb (John) of Camdenton, Walter Floy Cunningham (Shelly) of Paola, Kansas, and David Cunningham (Sonya) of Topeka, Kansas. She was beloved Granny to fourteen grandchildren, Great Granny to twenty great-grandchildren, and Aunt to several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are two sisters, and one brother, Gean Blair of Osage Beach, Ann Price of Roach, and Wallace Roofener of Camdenton. One sister, Bertha Maree Roam preceded her in death. Lillian was a schoolteacher for most of her adult life. She taught in several schools in Camden County, finishing her career for the last thirteen years at Camdenton Elementary.
