Obituary of Robert Roy Schlecta
Robert Roy Schlecta, age 79, of Roach, Missouri moved over into Glory on Friday, June 11, 2010 at Landmark Hospital, Columbia, Missouri.
Robert was born October 30, 1930, in Kansas City, Missouri to Fred Schlecta and Mary Baker Schlecta.
Robert was united in marriage to Vivian �Joyce� Miller on December 23, 1950 in Kansas City, Kansas.
Robert is survived by his daughters, Debra Stefanski of Roach, Missouri and Pamela Craig of Sacramento, California.
Grandchildren Keven Craig, Heather Shaw, Jeremy Craig, and Amanda Craig and his great-grandchildren Kacie Craig, Alexia Craig, Ashleigh Craig, Zachery Shaw, Melody Craig, Christian Bezada, Hannah Shaw, Sarah Craig, and Ethan Craig.
Robert is also survived by his brother Raymond Schlecta of Kansas and brother-in-laws, Robert Miller.
Preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mary Baker Schlecta, wife, Vivian Joyce Schlecta, and siblings Fred Schlecta, Wesley Schlecta, Louise Houser, Mary Jean Morris, and William Schlecta, and son-in-laws Steven Craig and Eric Stefanski. He spent his working career as a truck driver in Kansas City, Missouri of which he retired as. He was a volunteer Firefighter and fire chief at Prairie Hollow Fire Dept.
Robert is a member and past President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #87 in Kansas City, Kansas, a member of Sonlight Christian Church in Kansas City, Kansas.
Robert retired and made his home at the Lake of the Ozarks since 1985. He loved lake living, hunting and fishing. He was a man of integrity and his word. He was loved by his family.
He will be missed by his family, friends, and neighbors.
