Obituary of Gary Knott

Gary lost is battle with cancer on August 12, 2010, with family and friends at his side. Gary was born on April 6, 1952, in Cedar Rapids, IA, to Eldon and Hazel Knott. He met Sheri in 1992 and together in 1994, they started Wamego Sales Company, a computer business in Raytown, MO. In 1996 they tied the �Knot�. Gary & Sheri moved to Sunrise Beach to semi-retire, but Gary quickly had his hand in various business opportunities. In 1998 they purchased Bet-Lo Trailer Park and started Lake Ozark Pre-Cast in 1999. Gary was diagnosed with Lung Cancer in September 2009 and in the early spring of 2010 it had moved to his brain. He was one of the very few and fortunate, that chemo and radiation did not make sick during treatment. For that we were very thankful. He said to his chemo doctor one day after a check-up �I�m pretty healthy for a dying man!� He never lost his sense of humor or his wit even in his last days. He loved life and living on the water. He could sit for hours (with a cocktail of course), just watching the activity on the water. He enjoyed fishing and playing with his grandkids, boating and being with people. he leaves his wife Sheri of Sunrise Beach, MO. A Daughter & Son-in-law Christy and Brian Morris of Lee�s Summit, MO, A Son & Daughter-in-law William (BJ) & Kimberly Cohen of Charleston, SC, Three grandchildren that he adored, Sam & Lindsey Morris & Jacob Cohen, Two sisters and brother-in-laws, Pat & Jim Lahr and Carol & Steve Strong, of Cedar Rapids, IA, Two nieces, Gretchen & Erin a nephew Weston, two great nieces and one great nephew, and will be missed by a countless number of family and friends.
