Obituary of Barbara Jean Anderson

Barbara Jean Dixon Anderson, age 68, of Laurie, Missouri, died August 23, 2010 after a short illness. She was born January 8, 1942 to Eugene William Dixon and Georgia Elizabeth Heisler Dixon in Sunrise Beach, Missouri. In 1942, the location was known as Star Route of Versailles. Barbara was very proud to be a native of the area. She attended Hurricane Deck School, graduated Camdenton High School, and also Southwest Missouri State University. She was an Elder of West Lake Christian Church in Laurie and enjoyed singing in the praise team and choir, and serving on the Church Board. Her willing hands and voice will be missed at so many functions. She married Clarence Marvin �Andy� Anderson, Jr. on August 31, 1960. A son, Michael Todd was born to them March 23, 1963 who died February 28, 1967. Andy passed in 1980. Both Andy and Michael Todd are buried in Camdenton, where Barbara Jean will be interred. Together they built the restaurant known as Foxes Four on Highway 5. Barbara married Ralph Holder Anderson, Jr. on December 30, 1984. Together they built �Barbwire Security�. Ralph and Barbara were active in Elks of Laurie, The American Legion Zack Wheat Post 624 in Sunrise Beach, and were members of the National Rifle Association. Ralph died May 28, 1996. Barbara served as dispatcher for the Camo Ambulance. Working with and for people was an avid endeavor of Barbara�s. She had been employed by Premier Home Health Care, out of Buffalo, Missouri and Future Care, out of Rolla, Missouri for several years. Many employees and friends she served will remember Barbara�s tenacity, and loving care. Barbara enjoyed fishing and hunting. She was a marksman, winning many trophies which were destroyed in a fire that took their home in 1991. She spoke of how the whole community cam to assist them getting back on their feet.
