Obituary of Helen Mills

Helen Mills, age 88, of Osage Beach, Missouri, departed this life on September 11, 2010 at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach, Missouri. She was born December 3, 1921, in Herrin, Illinois, the daughter of Richard and Mary Hipple Hundley She was united in marriage to LaFond Mills on November 10, 1945 in St. Louis, Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 13, 1994. Helen was a member of Harper Chapel United Methodist Church in Osage Beach, Missouri. She was initiated into the Order of Eastern Star Mitchell Chapter No. 249 on July 22, 1942 in Pinckneyville, Illinois. She transferred to ERIE Star Chapter 332 in Camdenton, on January 30, 1986. She was elected Worthy Matron in 1988, and received her 50 year pin in 1992. Helen served in numerous positions in the Chapter and �made the best coffee ever tasted.� Helen looked after and cared for several children in the lake area as well. Helen is survived by three brothers, Robert Hundley, Richard Hundley and Clinton Hundley; two sisters, Ellen Willhite and Mable E. Foster Yates, several nieces and nephews, and a good friend Jeanne George. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband LaFond, and one brother, William.
