Obituary of Betty Jean Kruidenier

Betty Jean Kruidenier (Liggett) passed from this life on September 15th, 2010, at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Judson (Jud) F. Kruidenier. She is survived by her sister, Marian L Chrisco, 3 children; Kim L Samms (Don), Kathy J Wilson (Bill), Kurt F Kruidenier (Pam), 8 grand children and 5 great grand children. Betty Jean Liggett was born in Ponemah, Illinois on April 22, 1927. She attended Garfield Elementary, Central Junior High and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1945. Upon graduation Betty began working for Central Standard Life for several years. On August 28, 1949, Betty married her sweetheart, Judson F Kruidenier. After raising their 3 children to school age she went to work for the Monmouth Public School system in the High School library for 25 years. After retiring from the library she worked with Jud at Monmouth College with the track and cross country teams until his second retirement from there. Following retirement, both Jud and Betty enjoyed several small jobs around the area, traveling around the country, and visiting their kids and grand kids. After Jud suffered a stroke in July of 2008, he and Betty moved to Osage Beach, Missouri to be closer to family. Betty remained there after his death in August of 2009. She passed away after a short bout of pneumonia. Betty enjoyed their life at the lake as she had enjoyed life in general, smiling all the while. She will be sorely missed.
