Obituary of Dorothy J. Hill

Dorothy J. Hill, age 92, of Roach, Missouri, departed this life on Monday, August 8, 2011 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Missouri. Dorothy was born March 28, 1919 in Joplin, Missouri, the daughter of William T. and Elizabeth S. (Hollandsworth) Zimmerman. Dorothy was united in marriage on September 29, 1940 in Joplin, Missouri to Harold B. Hill, and together they had shared the past 70 years until her death. Dorothy had worked most of her life in the retail business in the advertising department. She and Harold enjoyed visiting Lake of the Ozarks on weekends and built their lake house in 1973. They both retired full time and moved permanently to the Lake in 1989. Dorothy enjoyed playing Bridge and quilting in her spare time. She was a member of the Newcomers-Longtimers of Lake of the Ozarks and a member of the Women�s Aeronautical Association of Wichita. Dorothy loved her family more than anything and enjoyed spending time with them. Dorothy is survived by her husband Harold of the home; two sons, Harold B. Hill, Jr. and wife, Thersia, of Roach, Missouri and Robert L. Hill of Wichita, Kansas; three grandchildren, Lisa Roberson and husband, Bill, Julie Black and husband Joe, and Eric Hill and wife Beth; two step-grandsons, David Hoover and Tony Hoover; ten great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Roberson, Chandler Roberson, Peyton Roberson, Cameron Cahn, Tyler Cahn, Abby Cahn, Lynna Hill, Liam Hill and Lainey Hill; three step-great-grandchildren, Jessie Hoover, Madison Hoover and Alex Hoover; nephews, Denny Boatwright and Chuck Zimmerman; one niece, Jan Gill; one brother, Nobel Zimmerman of Houston, Texas, along with several other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Darrell, Tom and Warren, and three sisters, Laura Gregory, Alma Bailey and Mildred Kessler.
