Obituary of Willis Ray Sieg
Willis Ray Sieg, age 68, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, departed this life on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at his residence in Lake Ozark, after ending his six month battle with Leukemia.
Willis was born March 10, 1943 in Bloomington, Illinois, the son of Arthur and Helen (Runge) Sieg.
He was united in marriage on September 9, 1962 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington, Illinois to Carol Rhodus, his high school sweetheart, and together they had shared the past 49 years until his death.
Willis served his country proudly in the United States Navy from 1965-1969 as a ship-fitter during the Vietnam War.
Willis was born and grew up in Illinois and graduated from University High School in Normal, Illinois. He loved vacationing at Lake of the Ozarks where he and Carol moved to in 1988 when he became part owner of Glen Cove Marine.
In his spare time, Willis enjoyed sitting on his deck looking over the water. He loved cruising about on the lake in his boat and was interested in just about anything having to do with boating. He grew up riding horses and often spoke of the fun times he had with his friends.
Willis was a loving and devoted husband and father and a caring neighbor and friend to all who knew and loved him.
Willis is survived by his loving wife, Carol, of the home; one daughter, Diana Roper of Kansas City, Missouri; one brother Richard Sieg and wife, Arlene, of Shirley, Illinois as well as several other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Art and Helen Seig
