Obituary of James Ray Joy

James Ray Joy, age 60, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, departed this life on Friday, February 3, 2012 at Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. James was born August 6, 1951 in Perryburg, Ohio, the son of Walter and Virginia (Brown) Joy. He was united in marriage to Jan Witter on July 30, 2005 in Camdenton, Missouri. James served in the United States Army for nearly 17 years. Most recently, he worked as a driver for J.B. Hunt trucking company. In his spare time, James enjoyed fishing and spending time with family. James is survived by his loving wife Jan of the home; his son Steve Joy and wife, Christine of Waynesville, Missouri; step-sons Andrew Kendrick of Casper, Wyoming and Matthew Kendrick of Camdenton, Missouri; step-daughter Kari Johnson and husband, Ralph, of Lake Ozark, Missouri; his brother Rick Joy of Bowling Green, Ohio; sisters Peggy Smith and husband, Ed, of Bowling Green, Ohio and Jodi Hilbelink, of Bowling Green, Ohio; six grandchildren Lakota Joy, Cheyanne Joy, Savannah Walters, Trey Johnson, Taylor Johnson, and Elizabeth Kendrick, as well as several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Virginia Joy, and one daughter, Shelley Walters.
