Obituary of Shirley Lee Rogers

Shirley Lee Rogers, age 67, of Camdenton, Missouri, departed this life on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at her residence in Camdenton. Shirley was born September 18, 1944 in Independence, Missouri, the daughter of Henry and Lillian (Golden) Schornhorst. Shirley was united in marriage to Delmar Rogers who preceded her death April 18, 2002. Shirley had worked as a CNA for various care centers through the years. She enjoyed cooking and vegetable gardening and was a collector of cookie jars, roosters, and knick-knacks. Shirley�s door was always open where she welcomed family and visitors alike. She loved her family more than anything and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. Shirley is survived by five daughters, Wanda Sultan and husband, Mohamed, of Columbia, Missouri, Mildred Schaffer of Camdenton, Missouri, Barbara Rogers of Camdenton, Missouri, Debbie Tomlinson and husband, Johnnie, of Richland, Missouri, and Lillian Rogers of Camdenton, Missouri; one step-daughter, Linda Kennedy of Elkland, Missouri; brothers, George Schornhorst and wife, Arlowa, of Independence, Missouri, Wesley Schornhorst of Independence, Missouri, James Bryant of Florida, Mike Bryant and wife, Pamela, of Blue Springs, Missouri, and Ronnie Bryant of Kansas City, Kansas; sisters, Betty Marshall of Stoutland, Missouri and Christine Ward of Lebanon, Missouri; 21 grandchildren, Joseph, Elizabeth, Adam, Sarah, Taha, Cassie, Chelsey, Josh, Travis, Samuel, Benjamin, Johnny, Steven, Melinda, Cody, Weldon, Kevin, Tracy, Donnie, Justin, and Elizabeth; 15 great-grandchildren; along with several other relatives and friends. Along with her husband Delmar, Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sharon Young, son-in-law, Jamie Schaffer; sister-in-law, Peggy Schornhorst; brothers-in-law, James Marshall and Clyde Ward; and step-grandson, Matthew Smith.
