Obituary of J.M. Brown

J.M. Brown, age 85, of Montreal, Missouri, departed this life on Monday, August 27, 2012 at his residence in Montreal. J.M. was born August 3, 1927 in Montreal, Missouri, the son of James Madison and Lena (Doyle) Brown. J.M. had served in both the United States Army and the Missouri National Guard. J.M. was married to Melva Gouge from October 1949 until her death in July, 1993, and was re-married November 8, 1993 to Melba Stutsman in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. J.M. retired from CF Industries in Chattanooga, Tennessee where he had worked for over 20 years as an operating engineer. In his spare time, he enjoyed buying, selling or trading almost anything and attending horse shows. In his younger years he was an avid outdoorsman where he enjoyed hunting and fishing. More than anything though, he loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. J.M. is survived by two sons, Rodney Brown and wife, Mary, of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Douglas Brown and wife, Deborah, of Dalhart, Texas; one step-son, Mike Claiborn of Montreal, Missouri; two step-daughters, Sandra Fry and Kelley McDaniel and husband, Terry, all of Montreal, Missouri; one sister, Mattie Long of Montreal, Missouri; four grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren along with several other relatives and friends. In addition to his first wife Melva, J.M. was preceded in death by his parents
