Obituary of James Donald Newport

James Donald (Jim) Newport, age 78, of Camdenton, Missouri, departed this life on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Laurie Care Center, Laurie, Missouri. Jim was born April 28, 1934 in Neodesha, Kansas, the son of John L. and Velma Jo (Haller) Newport. Jim was united in marriage September 10, 2012 in Camdenton, Missouri to Geraldine Payne. Jim worked 35 years for Boeing Aircraft Company and retired to the place he loved, Lake of the Ozarks. He was a member of Camdenton Bible Baptist Church. Jim is survived by his wife Geraldine; one son, Donald L. Newport of Wichita, Kansas; three daughters, Tena R. Luper and husband, Jesse of British Columbia, Canada, Tami Newport of Wichita, Kansas, and Kari Horton and husband, Charlie, of Healdon, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jack Newport and one sister, Joy High.
