Obituary of John S. Patton
John S. Patton, age 86, a resident of Four Seasons, Missouri, passed away Sunday, November, 17, 2012.
John was born on March 13, 1926 on a farm south of Albany, Gentry County, Missouri, the son of John W. Patton and Blanche (Sweat) Patton. He attended a Gentry County rural school and Albany Elementary and High School. He was a graduate of the University of Missouri, Columbia, receiving AB and JD degrees. During World War II, he served with the United States Army Air Corp. John was an attorney, practicing at Butler, Missouri, and as an attorney and executive of American Family Insurance Group. He was united in marriage on August 22, 1948 to Mary Jane Pile who preceded him in death on January 31, 2009.
John is survived by son John L. Patton, daughter-in-law Lyndi, daughter Mary M. Taylor, son-in-law Daryl, seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister Margaret Fahs of Broomes Island, Maryland, many nieces and nephews, and close companion Pat Juneau.
John enjoyed sports of all kinds. He was widely traveled and enjoyed life to the fullest.
John was a member of the Lake Ozark Christian Church, a Senior Counselor of the Missouri Bar and a member of the Camden County Republican Club. For many years he participated with AARP Tax-Aide, a service providing free tax preparation for the elderly. He was a former member of the American Bar Association, the Kansas City Bar Association, the Kansas City Claims Association, the State Bar of Wisconsin, The American Legion and the American Trial Lawyers Association.
