Obituary of Eddie Gene Washington

Eddie Gene Washington, age 77, of Camdenton, Missouri passed away Friday, November 16, 2012 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Missouri. Eddie was born August 7, 1935 in Palmac, Texas, the son of Norman and Gussie Mae (Jimeson) Washington. Eddie was united in marriage March 3, 1978 to Janet Marie Greene in Las Vegas, Nevada, and together they shared the past 34 years of marriage until his death. Eddie graduated in the class of 1952 from George Washington Carver High School in Ennis, Texas. He attended Huston-Tillison College in Austin, Texas. He then joined the United States Army where he served in the Special Forces and Army Band, stationed in Germany, during the Korean War. Eddie worked for Tan-Tar-A Resort and was owner/operator of Final Touch Carpet and Mid-Missouri Liquidators until his retirement. Eddie enjoyed music, and the Lake of the Ozarks. Eddie is survived by his loving wife, Janet of the home; their son, Jason Washington and wife, Jeannette of St. Louis, Missouri; two daughters, Wanda Pleasant and husband, Donald, of Pflugerville, Texas and Joanne Washington of Pflugerville, Texas; one brother, Lawrence Washington of Lewis, Delaware; two sisters, Gwendolyn Parish of Las Angeles, California and Janice Marie Evans of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren along with several other relatives and friends. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Percy Walker and Norman Washington, Jr.; and two sisters, Dossie Mae Blair and Elyine Young.
