Obituary of Jack Lee DaMitz

Jack Lee DaMitz, age 76, of Macks Creek, Missouri, departed this life on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Jack was born April 15, 1936 in Wheatland, Missouri, the son of Thomas F. and Ellen (Robbinett) DaMitz. Jack was united in marriage August 11, 1962 in Kansas City, Missouri to Dorothy Sue Love and together they shared 50 years of marriage until his death. Jack made a profession of faith as a young man in Kansas City. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Camdenton, Missouri. Jack worked as a machinist and was employed by Best Built Parts in Springfield, Missouri for over 30 years. His favorite hobbies were his family and cars. He loved spending time with his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. He was a car enthusiast who attended the Rods and Relics Car Show in Branson Missouri annually for 30 years. He enjoyed building and working on cars and passing that knowledge on to his son, sons-in-law, and grandsons. Jack was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be sorely missed by his family and friends. Jack is survived by his loving wife Dorothy, of the home; one son, Daniel DaMitz and wife, Jenny of Camdenton, Missouri; two daughters, Gaila Collins and husband, Keith, of Branch, Missouri and Deann Jones and husband, Kevin, of Macks Creek, Missouri; three brothers; Tom DaMitz and wife, Margie, of Johnson City, Tennessee, Bud DaMitz and wife, Lenna, of Independence, Missouri and Ernie DaMitz and wife Charlotte, of Cross Timbers, Missouri; one sister, Wanda Allen and husband, Terry, of Independence, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Randy DaMitz and wife, Ashley, Tyler Jones and wife, Selma, Curtis Collins, Mandy DaMitz, Nathan Jones, Dalton Jones Miriah Collins, and Miranda Collins; two great-grandchildren, Emma DaMitz and Natalie Jones; as well as several other family members and friends. Jack was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Ellen DaMitz; and one brother, Bob DaMitz.
