Obituary of Randel Lee Berry

Randel Lee Berry, age 73, of Linn Creek, Missouri, departed this life on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at his residence in Linn Creek. Randel was born November15, 1939 in Covington, Kentucky, the son of Duke and Ethel (Swegles) Berry. Randel was united in marriage June 3, 1995 in Camden County, Missouri to Mary Kelley. Randel served his country proudly in the United States Army and retired from the Military in 1977. Randel earned several medals and honors during his service including Good Conduct Medal (5), Presidential Unit Citation, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Service Stars, Combat Infantryman Badge 1st Award, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon w/Device (1960), and Sharpshooter Badge w/Carbine Bar and Parachutist Badge-Basic. He later worked in real estate sales. Randel also served as past Commander of VFW Post 5923 in Camdenton. In his spare time, Randel enjoyed woodworking, and traveling in his RV, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Randel was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be sorely missed by his family and friends. Randel is survived by his loving wife Mary, of the home; his children; Randy, Jr. and wife, Brenda, Cindy Crawford, Shelly Henderson, Kelly Baum and husband, Doug, Kim Rushing, Richard Payne and wife, Dena, and Robert Payne; his grandchildren, Philip Doner and wife, Kasandra, Mallory Denvir, Ashley Rupp and husband, Brandon, Brittney Clemens, Lindsey Williams and husband, Josh, Robert Payne, Jr., Mary Ruth Payne, Natalie Payne, Devin Payne, Emily Watts, Pamela Hershey and husband, Jeremy, Jessica Austin and husband, Troy, Amy Chiodo and husband, David, Matthew Berry, Michael Berry and wife, Lacy, Christopher Berry, Sarah Bockelman and husband, Brent, Michelle Berry and Jeffery Henderson; his great-grandchildren, Philip, Jr., Colton, Gavino, Gracelyn, Ethan, Jaycee, Shaelyn, Laben, Ian, Zoe, Ashlen, John, Mikki, Fisher, Jacob, McKenzie and Alissa; as well as several other family members and friends. Randel was preceded in death by his parents Duke and Ethel Berry, and one brother, Larry.
