Obituary of Helen Louis Young

Helen Louise Stubblefield Young went to be with Jesus on January 11, 2013. She left peacefully surrounded by her family at her home in Eldridge, Missouri. Helen was born October 21, 1943 in Portland, Oregon. The eldest daughter of Howard West and LaWanda Kirkpatrick and granddaughter of Oren and Nora West and Hattie and Ulesses Kirkpatrick. On May 9, 1959 Helen married Joe Robert Stubblefield and they were married for 37 years. They had four children; Patricia, Joe Robert Jr.(deceased), Robert and Stacey, Helen worked at home raising her children; she always had a big garden and canned vegetables for her family and worked hard on the farm helping with livestock, putting up hay and many other farm chores. On March 5, 2000 she married David Allen Young, son of Junior and Mary Young of Stoutland, Missouri. They have lived happily on their farm in Eldridge for 13 years. Helen has always been the spiritual leader of her family. She taught her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to love the Lord. She often said her greatest hope was for all her family to know Jesus. Helen went to work outside of the home when Robbie and Stacey were older She worked for VF Jeans Wear and Blair Cedar, She worked for the Missouri Mule Magazine and her last job up until she became too sick to work for Regis as an inventory auditor. Helen�s outgoing and caring personality carried through to her job and she considered friends she worked with as extended family. Helen�s greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Going on walks, riding the four wheeler or eating strawberries on the back porch while listing to the birds sing, she loved it all. She pampered and cared for her dogs Buddy and Toby and her horse. She never stopped learning and loved to read. She loved the ocean and walks along the beach. Helen is survived by: her husband David Allen Young; her daughter Patricia Rogers and husband Stanley, her son Robert Stubblefield and wife Lisa, daughter Stacey Helton and husband Darren, step-daughter; Tracy Reaves and husband Andy, Grandson; Paul Rogers and wife Krista; granddaughter, LaShelle Smith and husband Darrin, grandson, Michael Stubblefield and wife Rachel, grandson Ty Helton and granddaughter, Abby Helton. Step-grandchildren; Kariss, Kaylee, Michael and Karinn Reeves. Great- grandchildren; Nolan, Josie, Austin and Drew Rogers; Ryker and Anakyn Smith and Kaydence and Kylie Stubblefield. Three sisters, Karen Brown, Kay Raef, Mary Ann Barber; sister-in-law and special friend Claudia Stubblefield. Nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Our tears are not for our mother, we know that she�s with God. Our tears are for the loss we feel that time will not erase.
