Obituary of Clark F Houghton

Clark Ferguson Houghton, age 86, of Osage Beach, Missouri, departed this life on Friday, January 18, 2013 at Osage Beach Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Osage Beach, Missouri. Clark was born May 1, 1926 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Milford George and Ellen Louise Dewey (Ferguson) Houghton. Clark served his country proudly in the United States Army from September 9, 1943, until his honorable discharge, August 18, 1946. Clark was united in marriage to Orvalyn Burns, in St. Louis, Missouri on September 2, 1950, and together they shared 62 years of marriage until his death. Clark graduated from Rolla School of the Mines as a Civil Engineer. He worked for Shell Oil as an Engineer and then bought Mid-Missouri Oil Company in 1961, which is now owned by Wayne Compton. Clark was President of the National Oil Jobbers and President of the Missouri Oil Jobbers. Clark is survived by his loving wife Orvalyn, of the home; two children, Keith Clark Houghton and his wife, Vicki of St Louis, Missouri and Lynda Beth Sherer and her husband, Randall, of Greenfield, Wisconsin; four grandchildren, DeAnna Lynn Sherer, Veronica Lynn Brown and her husband, David, Jeffery Keith Houghton and Jennifer Marie Houghton, along with several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Milford and Ellen Houghton; his sister, Ellabeth Hazel Houghton; his brother, Milford Jerome Houghton and his wife, Elizabeth, and their children James Stephen and Jon David.
