Obituary of Essie Mae Jones

Essie Mae Jones, age 95, of Osage Beach, Missouri, departed this life on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Lakeside Meadows in Osage Beach, Missouri. Essie Mae was born February 4, 1918 in Mound City, Missouri, the daughter of William and Mary Rose (Politte) Wilson. She was united in marriage December 27, 1935 in Granite City, Illinois to Arthur H. Jones who preceded her in death March 31, 1996. Essie Mae was a loving and devoted wife and helpmate to her husband and a caring mother to her sons. She enjoyed her role as homemaker and helped create many beautiful memories for her family and friends. Essie Mae enjoyed fishing and playing cards with her friends at Camdenton Senior Center. She also loved dancing, in particular, square dancing. She was a member of St. Anthony�s Catholic Church in Camdenton, Missouri. Essie Mae is survived by two sons, Phillip Jones and wife, Kay of Macks Creek, Missouri, and Larry Jones and wife Pat of St. Louis, Missouri; three grandchildren, Art Jones, Dan Jones and wife, Jane, and David Jones and wife, Julie; eight great-grandchildren, Stephanie Goodman and husband, Eric, Melissa Eaker and husband Aron, Kim Noble and husband, Justin, Benjamin Jones, Jacob Jones, Magan Jones, Lauren Jones, and Hanna Jones; five great-great grandchildren, Alexis Mitchell, Ethan Goodman, Jaiden Goodman, Collin Eaker, and Carter Jones; as well as several other relatives and friends. Essie Mae was preceded in death by her parents; William and Mary Wilson; her husband, Arthur H. Jones; and three sisters, Cleda Bequette, Verna Gutesell, and Wilma Russell.
