Obituary of Don Stoufer

Donald Ray �Don� Stoufer, age 80, of Macks Creek, Missouri, passed on to be with his Eternal Father on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Missouri. Don was born January 4, 1933 in Macks Creek, Missouri, the son of Clarence Lewis and Sarah Frances (Parrack) Stoufer. On December 21, 1952, Don was baptized and became a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. After serving his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, Don came home and married Norma Jane Lynch and made his home in Kansas City, Missouri. While there, he worked for the American Sash and Door Company. After leaving there, Don continued building as a carpenter in the greater Kansas City area. Don returned home to Macks Creek and married Ruth Ann Willis Huber on April 7, 1979. Don was a carpenter and worked in and around the Lake of the Ozarks area. After retiring from carpentry work, he moved on to farming full time at his home in Macks Creek. Don was known for his custom cabinetry work, home construction, and raising stock cattle. He enjoyed being with his family, hunting, fishing and playing cards with his friends and neighbors. Survivors include his wife Ruth Ann Stoufer, of the home; his brother, Rueben Karl Stoufer of Macks Creek, Missouri; two sisters, Beulah Owsley of Overland Park, Kansas and Bessie Laughlin of Springfield, Missouri. Other survivors include his five children; daughter Rhonda Milligan of Independence, Missouri, daughter Lisa Wert of Macks Creek, Missouri and sons, Steven Stoufer, Mike Stoufer, and Ronald Stoufer and wife, Amber, all of Macks Creek, Missouri; one step-son, Lee Huber of Macks Creek, Missouri. Don also has fourteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Glenn , Norman (Ticky), an infant brother, C.L. Jr., and Johnnie; and three sisters, Blanche Hicks, Bonnie Young, and Bernice Stoufer.
