Obituary of Robert S. Gustin

Robert Stanley �Bob� Gustin, Sr., age 78, of Osage Beach, Missouri, departed this life Saturday, April 6, 2013 at his home in Osage Beach. Bob was born May 20, 1934 in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Stanley and Leva (Wilkinson) Gustin. He was united in marriage October 17, 1958 in Ankeny, Iowa to Georgiann Reynolds, and together they shared 54 years of marriage until his death. They moved to Osage Beach, Missouri in 1976 to become the owners of Antler�s Resort. Bob served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from November 1953 through October 1958 and was honorably discharged. Bob had worked as a manager for Jack�s Pool and Supply. He was a volunteer firefighter and served on the Board of Directors of the Osage Beach Fire Department. Robert was a member of the VFW Post 5923 in Camdenton and a member of Harper Chapel United Methodist Church in Osage Beach. Among Bob�s many interests were fishing and his love of auto racing. He enjoyed watching his son and grandson race cars and had been a race car driver himself at one time. Bob also rode motorcycles and dirt bikes and in previous years had coached little league ball. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Georgiann, of Osage Beach, Missouri; three sons, Robert S. Gustin, Jr., and wife, Marcie of Osage Beach, Missouri; Gary D. Gustin and wife, Debbie, of Linn Creek, Missouri and Terry Gustin and friend Vickie of Osage Beach, Missouri; one brother, Dick Gustin and wife, Deloris, of Iowa; one sister Betty Towers of California; three grandchildren, Aaron Gustin, Stephanie Cox and Becka Kilbourne; two great-grandchildren, Leah and Ariel; along with several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother-in-law Dick Towers and one sister Colleen McIlhon.
