Obituary of Danny Thomas Stone

Danny Thomas Stone was born October 13, 1955 at the Stone Family home in Malden, Missouri. Danny was gathered to God on April 13, 2013 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 57 years, 6 months. Danny was the son of Donald Gene Stone and Jenny �Joan� Selby. He spent his childhood years in the boot heel of Missouri with his brother Sammy and sisters Sherry and Debbie. Life was always exciting� Family was very important in the Stone family. Whether fishing with Papa Sug�, hunting with his dad, or gatherings just to visit � Love, laughter, and food abounded. Danny met the love of his life, Barbary McNeely, his junior year of high school and married her on May 17, 1975. And to this union two children were born: Travis and Jessica. Danny and Barb had an adventurous marriage, living in Wisconsin, New Mexico, and then in Camdenton from 1985 until 2012, when they moved to Dunnegan, Missouri for Danny�s retirement. Danny was a good father � reading to the kids, taking them fishing, hunting mushrooms together, and cooking with them. He and Barb loved to do everything possible together; it was their company that made them complete. Danny enjoyed cooking � creating recipes and smoking meat � he was a chef extraordinaire. He was musically inclined, playing the guitar, some piano, and he loved to play and repair violins. He also loved warbird airplanes and enjoyed flying in them. History was also one of his passions. Danny had a strong relationship with Christ and freely shared his beliefs. His proudest moments were when his children accepted Christ into their lives. Danny is survived by his wife, Barbara; his son, Travis and fianc�e Donna of Camdenton and Travis� daughter, Madison; his daughter, Jessica and husband Kurt Theobald of Springfield and their children, Benjamin and Eliana; his sister, Debbie and husband Steve Lancaster and their two sons of Risco, Missouri; and his sister, Sherry and her husband, Ronnie Kester and their daughter Amy and family of Clarkton, Missouri. Danny was also survived by sisters-in-law that considered him a brother, many aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as many others that considered him a friend. He will be greatly missed by all. A small, private memorial celebration of his life will be held in May for family and friends. His surviving family would like to thank all of those that supported them during this time. And a special thank you to Teresa, Denean, and all the staff and families of Windsor Estates and everyone else that lifted Danny up on prayer.
