Obituary of Geraldine Ruth Rewerts

Geraldine Ruth (Wells) Rewerts, daughter of McClure and Gertrude Wells was born January 29, 1918 in Chesterton, Indiana and departed this life April 21, 2013,in Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of 95. Geri, as she was known to family and friends, attended Westchester Township High School in Chesterton, Indiana. Geri was on the Annual Staff of the Duneland Echo as Class Historian and won several athletic letters in basketball. Geri, a devoted Mother and community servant, went on to be an active professional with her last 30 years at Gary National Bank (Gainer Bank)...always holding on to her class motto, "Never be defeated...either find a way or make one.", an Eastern Star of Lake Chapter, No. 408, O.E.S. Masonic Temple, Crown Point, Indiana and a member of Merrillville United Methodist Church, Merrillville, Indiana. Geri leaves to celebrate her life, her daughter Lynnette Rewerts-Bowling (Bob) of LaGrange, Kentucky, daughter-in-law Dianne Rewerts of Camdenton, Missouri, six Grandchildren, Heather Dawn Perkins (Travis) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Kevin Rewerts (Suzanne) of Algonquin, Illinois, Brian Rewerts of Plainfield, Illinois, Shawn Rewerts (Michael Karbowski) of Dallas, Texas, Michelle Lynn Caruso (Frank) of Elmhurst, Illinois, Jennifer Ann Rewerts(fiance-James Schneider) of Elk Grove Village, Illinois and nine beloved Great Grandchildren, Andrew, Adam, Ethan, Alex, Nick, Anthony, Alyssa, Arianna, Ariel along with other relatives and many friends. Geri was preceded in death by her beloved husband Edward William Rewerts and beloved son Kenyard William Rewerts, her parents McClure and Gertrude Wells, and one sister, Vera Lesenyie.
