Obituary of Max Ray Hawkinson

Max Ray Hawkinson, 71, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013 at his home in Macks Creek, Missouri. Max was born January 22, 1942 in the country on the Ben Anderson Farm near Fremont, Iowa to Raoul Clarence and Juanita Alberta Sarvis Hawkinson. He attended Fremont High School graduating in 1960. He worked for United Grocery as a produce manager for a few years. Max started at Hy-Vee in Greenfield, Iowa, on April 12, 1975 and worked for Hy-Vee for many years. In 1995 he began to drive a semi for Prime, Inc in Springfield, Missouri until 2007 when he retired. Max also enjoyed raising Morgan horses with his wife Dian. He was united in marriage to Beverly Jean Rhoads on November 25, 1962, in Fremont, Iowa, and together they have three children Todd Hawkinson, Craig Hawkinson, Michelle Vermeersch, they later divorced. He was united in marriage to Dian Weaver on December 27, 1996. Max was preceded in death by his parents, a step-father, Ralph Casey, a brother, Larry Dean Hawkinson, a step-brother Joseph Casey, a granddaughter Lisa Ann Vermeersch and a niece Cyndee McKenna. His family includes his wife Dian Hawkinson, a son Todd & Lynne Hawkinson of Ballwin, Missouri, a son, Craig Hawkinson, of Duluth, Minnesota, a daughter Michelle & Scott Vermeersch of Rochester, Minnesota. Grandchildren: Kyle Hawkinson, Sarah Hawkinson, Tyler Vermeersch, Christian Vermeersch. His sister Kay Swanson of Oskaloosa, Iowa, a niece Kim & Loren Hols and family, a niece Tasi & Joel DeJoode and family all of Oskaloosa, Iowa, a step - brother Patrick & Cherie Casey of Omaha, Nebraska, step - sister Debbie & Scott Dyer of Bandera, Texas, and many other nieces and nephews.
