Obituary of Ruby Ilene Bentch

Ruby Ilene Bentch, age 92, of Macks Creek, Missouri, departed this life on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Windsor Estates in Camdenton, Missouri. Ilene, as she was known, was born May 2, 1921 in Macks Creek, Missouri, the daughter of Edward Levi and Anna (Muller) Pennel. Ilene was united in marriage on October 17, 1936 in Macks Creek, Missouri, to Walter Bentch who preceded her in death June 19, 1999. They were married for over 62 years. Ilene was an active member of several community and civic organizations including the Branch Homemakers Club, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 20 in Macks Creek, and a member of First Baptist Church of Macks Creek. She served 9 years as an Alderwoman with the Macks Creek City Council, and was Secretary for the Homecoming Committee of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church and School where she grew up for many years. Ilene was an accomplished poet where she held honors including a Golden Award, a Silver Award, and in 1999 won Poet of the Year Medallion with the Famous Poets Society. She was also a member of Who�s Who. Ilene was a loving and devoted wife and helpmate to her husband, and a wonderful mother to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She loved and cared for her parents most of her life and her dad use to call her �Tommy�. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Ilene is survived by three daughters, Doris Stone of Warsaw, Missouri, Freda Jackson and husband, Bill, of Macks Creek, Missouri, and Lucille Eaton of Camdenton, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and fifteen great-great-grandchildren. Ilene was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Anna Pennel; her husband Walter Bentch; one son Kenneth Ray Bentch (2006); one daughter Betty Ruth Bentch(1941); four brothers, Eddie, Larken, Willie and Daniel; two sisters, Lillie and Rachel; three sons-in-law, Duck Eaton, Robert Stone and Neal Strunk; three grandchildren and one great-grandson.
