Obituary of Nelson A. Ziegler

Nelson A. Ziegler, 90, of Camdenton, Missouri, departed this life peacefully on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at home with his children. Nelson was born April 8, 1923 in Fornfelt, Missouri to August and Anna (Hahn) Ziegler. He met the love of his life in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin when, as a dashing enlisted man on leave, he asked a beautiful young woman to dance. He later married that beauty, Rose Ida Stark, on June 24, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois. Together, they danced to �Mack the Knife� for 65 beautiful years. Nelson was a devoted husband and father, always striving to build a better life for his family. He raised his children the old fashioned way � with discipline, hard work, faith, and love. After serving in France during WWII he and Rose made their life in Worth, Illinois. A finely skilled carpenter, he later retired from the Carpenters Union, built his dream home on a little piece of heaven called Lake of the Ozarks, and became active in his church and Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rose, his third child, Richard Lee, and six siblings, Nelson is survived by his children, William (Cheri) Ziegler, of West Chicago, Illinois; Peggy (Gary) Kling, of Cedar City, Utah; Diane (Thomas) Stiers, of Mokena, Illinois; Janet (Dale) Lear, of Camdenton, Missouri; his twins, Rosemary Christine and John (Carol) Ziegler, both of Lemont, Illinois; Raymond Ziegler, of Joliet, Illinois; and one sister, Mary Handing of Wentzville, Missouri. He also leaves behind a legacy of 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren!
