Obituary of Matthew David Boan

Matthew David Boan, Jr., age 75, of Osage Beach, Missouri departed this life on Sunday June 30, 2013 at his residence in Osage Beach. Matthew was born December 2, 1937 in Harstville, South Carolina, the son of Matthew David Boan, Sr. and Ellen Boan. Matthew was united in marriage in 1955 to his beloved wife, Lillian Hall Boan, who preceded him in death in 1988. Matthew loved to fish, listen to country music, watch old western movies, play Yahtzee and watch wrestling. Matthew is survived by his two daughters, Patricia Hughes and husband, Tim Hughes, of Osage Beach, Missouri and Tamera Boan of Illinois; his four sons, James Boan and wife, Sharon Boan, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Michael Boan of Illinois, Jimmy Boan and wife, Mary Boan, of Alaska, and Lorne Boan and wife, Katie Boan, of Illinois. He also has one surviving sibling, Gloria Horne AKA Aunt LOIS of South Carolina. Matthew is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, as well as over 100 nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by six brothers, David, Horace, Lorraine, Archie, Thomas, and JC, and one sister, Nolia King, all of South Carolina. May he rest in peace.
